As our 2011 paperwork
stated, we will be using beauty entry free proceeds from our preliminary
events to help several different charities.
We started off by
choosing Jessie's Place for Women & Children. Jessie's Place is part of
the Jimmie Hale Mission and is a shelter for homeless women & children.
They get ABSOLUTELY no government funding or any funding, for that
matter. They work strictly 100% on donations that come from people like
You and I. They are not only a shelter, they also assist the women with
the training needed to find jobs and become successful so that they are
better able to provide for themselves and their children.
My family and I
recently attended the orientation/training at Jessie's Place so that we
can begin making a difference. We will keep you posted on our progress
and let you know what contributions are being made.
We will begin (in
March) serving meals. We will donate/prepare enough to feed
40 people each time we serve. We urge each of you to find a way to make
a difference, be it this charity, or one of the many others out there. I
can attest, by visiting the shelter, that all donations are put to VERY
GOOD use. It was truly an eye opener. It made me and my children
realize how very blessed we really are!!!
For the month of
February, we will be making donations of many items that the shelter has
told us are of the greatest need at this time. Those items include:
diapers, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner (toiletries) , washing
powders, paper towels etc...& quick foods for easy meal preparation.
These are just a few of the AWESOME things that your beauty entry fees
from January pageants will help to provide. Thanks for all your
support!! Every little bit really does make a difference.
If you would like to
get involved, please go to the website for Jimmie Hale Mission and it
will direct you to their website, which is full of information about
this awesome charity.

Together, we have worked hard to make a
difference this yearJ
We have just kicked
off a new year. I am proud to say
that we were able to donate far
beyond our expectations last year.
We appreciate each of you helping to
make that possible. As we start the
2012 season, we will continue
keeping you posted as to all of our
donations on your behalf. We
will donate to some organizations
that we donated to last year as well
as add a few new organizations this
year. We hope that this year will
prove to be even better than 2011.
For our January
events, we have chosen to make two
different donations. The first is
Southern Poverty Law Center---they
are the single most effective
organization in fighting hate groups
in the courtroom and teaching
tolerance and acceptance in the
classroom. To find out more about
this organization, please go to
www.splcenter.org
(their mission statement is
available there).
Our second donation
is being made to People For The
American Way---they are dedicated to
making the promise of America real
for every American: Equality.
Freedom of speech. Freedom of
religion. The right to seek justice
in a court of law. The right to cast
a vote that counts. The American
Way.
We feel that both of
these organizations are very
important!!! Thanks so much for
making this possible.
